Faculty Development Workshop: Team-Based Learning - A Paradigm Shift for the Classroom: November 6

Posted:

Team-based learning is a special form of in-class collaborative learning using a specific sequence of individual work, group work with immediate feedback, and the application of material to a specific problem. This process shifts the learning paradigm as students move from passive to active learning and course goals shift from knowing to applying. Instructors are no longer "on stage" but instead guide learning. Finally, team-based learning creates a motivational framework in which students increasingly hold each other accountable for coming to class prepared and contributing to the discussion. This workshop will be held Thursday, November 6, from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. in Butler Library 181B. Facilitated by Scott Phillips.

Register online through the CyberQuad Workshop Registration System.
