Campus Site-Lighting Project Begins This Week

Posted:

New and upgraded site-lighting (street lamp) installations on the campus perimeter are under way. The first phase of work is expected to begin today and end around August 28.

Workers will begin by cutting trenches in the pavement along the southeast end of Academic Drive near Rockwell Road. This work will disrupt parking in 12 staff spaces in Lot R-6 today and tomorrow. Activity will progress westward as trenching continues on the parking lane of Rockwell Road westbound. Regular traffic flow is expected to be maintained for the duration of this improvement.

Installation of the new light fixtures will reduce energy loads by 75 percent as bulbs are changed from metal halide to LED. Notices about additional phases of installation in other locations will follow. Your patience and understanding are appreciated. Questions about the site-lighting project may be e-mailed to vpfm@buffalostate.edu.
