Registrar's Office: Fall 2017 Late Add Process in Banner SSB

Posted:

All registration-related activity for fall 2017 must be completed in Banner by 11:59 p.m. Monday, September 4. Students will then have the ability to Late Add courses starting at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, and ending at 11:59 p.m. Thursday, September 14.

Students who wish to add a course during this time frame will be able to add the class to their Add or Drop Courses Worksheet in Banner Self-Service (SSB). If the faculty member accepts the request, he or she will enter an Instructor Permission override for the student in Banner, and the student will then register for the course. It is important to note that students are strongly encouraged to be attending the course and as up-to-date with assignments as possible when asking for instructor permission through the late add process. Each successful late add processed will be assessed a $20 late add fee.

'Our Voices: SUNY Buffalo State Oral History Project (1975-1995)' - Available Online

Posted:

The Archives and Special Collections area of E. H. Butler Library is happy to announce the formal launch of the oral history project “Our Voices: SUNY Buffalo State Oral History Project (1975–1995).” This project transferred more than 115 cassette interviews from between 1975 and 1995 to a digital medium. We stitched audio spanning several tapes together, cleaned the sound, saved them in long-term archival format, and hosted them on our Digital Commons online repository with appropriate metadata for discovery.

The collection includes interviews with three former college presidents (Bulger, Fretwell, and Johnstone); faculty interviews spanning more than 20 departments, including Biology, Creative Studies, English, Performing Arts, and Sociology; and topics such as the expansion and construction of our current campus buildings and facilities, and the development of United University Professions and the New York State Art Teachers Association.

Please share these interviews with students, staff, faculty, researchers, alumni, and other interested scholars.

AFP 2017: Sharing Stories/Connecting Communities

Posted:

The Anne Frank Project is excited to announce the schedule for its ninth annual social justice festival, AFP 2017: Sharing Stories/Connecting Communities, to be held October 3 and 4 at Buffalo State. AFP 2017 engages participants in multidisciplinary, kinesthetic learning experiences facilitated by local, national, and international scholars, artists, and activists. Look for sessions showcasing Buffalo State faculty, staff, and alumni.

About Our Theme
Our increasingly divisive world is actually the product of a small number of powerful communities rather than the multiple diverse groups of people whose stories are often silenced by oppression, or simply unknown. AFP 2017 encourages presenters and participants to surface these marginalized communities, navigate their difficulties, address conflicts, disassemble assumptions, and practice sharing stories to connect communities and improve the world.

Let’s share stories and strengthen our community. Use the links below to get involved.
