Brightspace Spring Cleaning: Organizing Your Course Content

Posted:

Now that you are using Brightspace for your course, are there things that you need to clean up?

  • Has your content been moved into Brightspace but you need to reorganize it?
  • Are there extra files in your course you don't need anymore?
  • Is your Gradebook “out of control” with extra grade items and columns you don't need?
  • Do you have video files you need to move to the media server?

In this in-person, hands-on workshop, "Brightspace Spring Cleaning: Organizing Your Course Content," we will go over these questions and have time during the session to assist you with moving and organizing your content to clean up your course.

This workshop is suitable for instructors currently teaching in Brightspace in any modality—face-to-face, hybrid, or online—but is not intended to replace the Brightspace Fundamentals Workshop series.

Workshops will be held in Butler Library 314. Please register through the Workshop Registration System.

Immediately following these workshops will be one-hour open labs, where you are welcome to stay to continue working on your spring cleaning in Brightspace.

Tell Students: Clothesline Project for National Crime Victims Rights' Week - April 20

Posted:

Please join us Thursday, April 20, during Bengal Pause (12:15–1:30 p.m.) in Caudell Hall 123 to make a T-shirt for our Clothesline Project in recognition of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) April 23–29. NCVRW has challenged the nation to confront and remove barriers to achieving justice for all victims of crime. During NCVRW, we celebrate the accomplishments of the victims’ rights movement and reflect on how far we have come. Traditional college-age students are at highest risk for intimate partner and dating violence. The Clothesline Project  takes the adage “Don’t air your dirty laundry in public,” which was meant to keep silent about “personal issues,” and turns it on its head. The Clothesline Project provides an opportunity for students to create T-shirts with anti-domestic-violence messages to raise awareness about intimate partner violence. Once created, the T-shirts will be “hung on the line” for display in the Social Work Department for NCVRW. Students can collect their T-shirts in May. T-shirts and supplies provided. Refreshments will be served.
