Tell Students: Bengal Study Nights Start Tonight

Get ready for finals academically, emotionally, and physically during Bengal Study Nights on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 9 and 10, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. throughout Butler Library. This two-night event includes final exam reviews, extended academic support hours, relaxation activities, yoga, meditation, therapy dogs, games, free food and make-your-own s’mores each night, prizes, and finals survival kits for the entire student body!

Ready up and relax for finals during our free Bengal Study Nights on Tuesday, May 9, and Wednesday, May 10 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. throughout Butler Library.

We'll have activities for everyone: final exam reviews and extended academic support hours; sound bath, yoga, and mindful meditation; crafts and relaxation activities: therapy dogs, make-your-own s’mores, food, games, and lots of giveaways.

Free and open to all students, staff, and faculty members.

The Teacher Education Council (TEC) will meet on the second Friday of every month in the Grande Conference Room, Cleveland Hall 418. Upcoming meetings dates for the 2023–2024 academic year are as follows:

The next meeting of the Buffalo State Senate will be held Friday, May 12, at 2:00 p.m. in Newman Lecture Hall, Bulger Communication Center 215. Kimberly Kline, professor of higher education administration, serves as chair of the Senate for the 2022–2023 academic year. Four seniors in the health, nutrition, and dietetics program will present information on processed foods, and the health hazards they pose, during a half-hour live radio program Monday, May 8, at 11:00 a.m. on WBNY-FM 91.3. Teacher Education Council Meeting: May 12

The Teacher Education Council (TEC) will hold its final meeting of the academic year on Friday, May 12, in the Grande Conference Room, Cleveland Hall 418, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Please note the earlier start time. 

The Teacher Education Unit (TEU) comprises elected representatives from undergraduate and graduate programs of each school: Professions, Arts and Sciences, and Education. Representatives of each school serve as elected designees on the TEC.

TEC representatives will receive a meeting invitation and agenda. All TEC representatives and TEU members are encouraged to attend. If TEC representatives are unable to attend this meeting, a proxy should be sent in their absence for voting purposes. Non-members who would like to attend may contact their TEC representative for more information.

J. P. Morgan Corporate Challenge: Registration Closes Soon

Registration is open for the 2023 J. P. Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge on Thursday, June 15, in Delaware Park. The 3.5-mile race starts at 6:25 p.m. Please register online for the Buffalo State University team. The registration fee is $38 per person.

We thank the President's Office, the Provost's Office, and United University Professions for their sponsorship of this annual event. Please encourage colleagues to register. The Corporate Challenge is a great time to connect with colleagues and community partners. The registration fee includes the hospitality tent, a team T-shirt, and much more. Registration will close May 23 or once capacity is reached.

Celebrate First Friday: May 5
