Spring 2025 Civic Engagement Series & 5th Annual MLK Day of Service - January 20

Posted:

The Dr. Katherine S. Conway-Turner Office of Civic and Community Engagement (CCE) is excited to announce the Spring 2025 Civic Engagement Series, an invaluable opportunity for Buffalo State students, faculty, and staff to engage with pressing social justice issues both locally and regionally. Through participation in service projects on and off-campus, you will have the chance to make a meaningful impact while also learning about various volunteer opportunities that foster ongoing engagement.

This semester, we offer several service projects and programs in collaboration with local community partners. Each project will feature an educational presentation about the partnering organization, followed by a hands-on service activity and a reflection session. Participation and completion of the reflection survey will earn students credit toward the President’s Certificate for Community Engagement. The full Civic Engagement Series schedule will be shared on Monday, February 10, 2025.

To kick off the series, we invite faculty and staff to participate in the 5th Annual MLK Day of Service on Monday, January 20, 2025. This event, hosted by Monarch of Infinite Possibilities LLC, will focus on community outreach on Buffalo’s Eastside. Various service sites and project opportunities will be available.
