Meals on Wheels: Volunteer with Buffalo State Team

Posted:

Do you want to make someone’s day brighter? Do you have 1.5 hours to spare every six weeks? Buffalo State has a dynamic team that has partnered with FeedMore WNY. FeedMore WNY serves over 3,700 unique clients in Erie County alone each year. The Buffalo State team delivers nutritious meals to shut-in neighbors in the Black Rock community on Wednesdays throughout the year. Not only are nutritious meals delivered, but the delivery also serves as a welfare check (the delivery person is often the only person that sees the client all day).

The commitment is a minimum of one meal delivery every six weeks that takes 1.5 hours (11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. total time leaving campus to return) with the two-person team.

Please consider volunteering. There is training. You even get to meet other people on campus. If interested, please contact Carol DeNysschen, dean of the School of the Professions. Thank you!

For better or worse, artificial Intelligence (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft CoPilot, Gemini) is here and here to stay.  This session will explore the implications for our classrooms. In particular, how we might adjust to teaching and learning in a world with AI? The session will offer suggestions for promoting opportunities for authentic student voice which can mitigate some of the negative side of AI's influence as well as offer suggestions for how instructors even consider embracing AI in their classrooms.

Notice to those that use Cloudflare ZTNA Client for remote access.

Posted:

On Wednesday morning (01/29/25) the Security Certificate from Cloudflare that is used with the ZTNA Client will be replaced.

For everyone that uses Windows with a Windows client there should only be a delay logging in since the client is supposed to handle installing the new certificate into your operating system on its own. This is the claim from Cloudflare and we have no way of testing it beforehand.

If you are using MacOS or a mobile device you might have to install the new certificate manually like you did when you first installed the client. Instructions are available in Team Dynamix.

Cloudflare says that MacOS clients will also automatically update the certificate but ITEC says this is not always the case.

If you need to download the new cert for whichever device you are working on, you may find a link to download it from Cloudflare but don’t use that, it may be the old one that will expire very soon. The new ones for our systems in CRT or PEM format (depending on your device) can be found HERE for CRT and HERE for PEM. Download or “Save AS” depending on your system.

It is a good time to make sure you have the latest version of the client, as of this writing the latest Windows version is 2024.12.760.0. See https://one.one.one.one/ for downloads.

Please go to https://buffalostate.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/2003/Portal/KB/Search?SearchText=%2523warp for basic information about the client.
