Robert Baumet, director of campus accounting, has received the Outstanding Graduate Student in Accountancy Award from SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly). Mr. Baumet completed the master of science in accountancy degree program from SUNY Poly, graduating this month with a 3.97 GPA. The award will be presented at the 2017 Academic Awards Banquet on the SUNY Poly campus in Utica, New York, on May 5. SUNY Polys program in accountancy was ranked third nationwide among top online business and accounting schools in 2015 by the Accounting Degree Review.

Aaron Moss, assistant professor of theater, performed as the voice actor for a series of television commercials across the country for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's 20162017 national tour. The commercials aired in every major television market, including New York City, Miami, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
David Abbott, instructional support specialist in the Physics Department, presented his work on using BlackBoard for online homework during the Fostering Innovation in Teaching with Technology (FITT) Spring Symposium on April 11. Dr. Abbott talked about his experience moving paper and pencil assignments online using BlackBoard Assignments and BlackBoard Tests.

Kathleen M. O'Brien, director of Campus House, presented her work on Blackboard achievement badges during the Fostering Innovation in Teaching with Technology (FITT) Spring Symposium on Tuesday, April 4. The FITT Spring Symposium is a signature element of the FITT Academy, providing a forum for FITT scholars to share their project outcomes. The goal of the project was to integrate the use of digital badges in the applied environment (HTR 480) for the purpose of increasing student engagement and strengthening learning outcomes.
