In her role as president of the Middle Atlantic Council of Latin American StudiesBridget María Chesterton, professor of history and social studies education, organized and hosted the council's 38th annual conference, "Changing Climates in the Americas," at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, March 9 and 10. With over 90 presenters and 20 panels, the conference was an overwhelming success.

Dr. Chesterton also published the chapter "From Porteńo to Pontero: The Shifting of Paraguayan Geography and Identity in Asunción in the Early Years of the Stroessner Regime" in the book Big Water: The Making of the Borderlands between Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay (University of Arizona Press, 2018; pp. 242–265).

ITAA is an international professional organization made up of textile and apparel professors. The ITAA Council serves as the governing board for the organization. As vice president of operations, Dr. Boorady is directly responsible for five committees: Membership, Faculty Fellowships and Awards, Student Fellowships and Awards, Design Awards, and Public Relations.
