Posted:

E. H. Butler Library introduces our new and improved catalog! Featuring a simplified search interface, the catalog provides options to expand your search from Butler Library to worldwide libraries, and seamlessly request items through our Interlibrary Loan service. In addition to searching our own collection, the new catalog allows you to search over fifty “Quick Delivery Libraries” and expect delivery in three to five working days on average, and to search WorldCat for materials in libraries around the world. Other features include the ability to preview books through Google Books, and link to citing services such as Cite This, RefWorks, and EndNote. Ingenuix Users and Windows 7

Posted:

The campus will soon be moving to Windows 7 for most PC users. Ingenuix (web template system) does not work with Win 7. The work around is to use the Windows Terminal Server (WTS) to access web templates. One advantage of using the WTS is that now, Mac users can also edit their templates.

Two workshops have been set up to train Ingenuix users - there will be others in the near future.

Check the registration page -
http://bscintra.buffalostate.edu/registration - to sign up for these workshops.

Student Focus Group for Electronic Thesis Submission

Posted:

Graduate students who will be culminating their graduate coursework with a master’s thesis are invited to participate in a focus group to discuss the implementation of electronic thesis submission. The platform created by the Digital Commons will create the opportunity for students to submit their thesis electronically to advisers and the Graduate School, rather than in a paper copy, and for students and faculty to share their scholarly work with multiple readers, for longer periods of time, and with greater access by more audiences. Students would also not have to submit a bound copy of their thesis to the Graduate School if this process is adopted. The focus group, organized to get as much student feedback as possible, will be held on Wednesday, February 9th from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in Bacon 115. Please RSVP to Marnie (878-5609) in the Graduate School Office by Monday, February 7th if you will be in attendance. Please share this information with any and all interested students.
