Enhanced Survey Feature in ANGEL

Posted:

In ANGEL 7.4, the survey feature has changed to allow for item analysis and stricter enforcement of respondent anonymity. If you have used surveys in past semesters, you will need to convert your surveys. A pop-up message will appear when you access previous semester courses, asking you to convert your survey. You can also learn how to convert your surveys and read about this new feature online. If surveys are not converted to the new “Enhanced Survey” within current semester courses, the students will not be able to access them. If you need assistance contact the SUNY Learning Network at (800) 875-6269 or visit the online help form.

Community of Science (COS): Scholar Universe Training at Buffalo State

Posted:

In the fall of 2010 we announced that SUNY Research Foundation has purchased Community of Science (COS) for use on all SUNY campuses in support of the chancellor’s initiatives on collaboration.

Over the past few months, COS has begun to construct a central repository of faculty research profiles for all SUNY scholars from publicly available information. These profiles will serve as the initial database entry for each individual and will be fully editable. This database of profiles is known as “Scholar Universe.” COS will also implement a “Find a SUNY Scholar” feature on all campus websites, which will enable sharing of expertise not only across SUNY, but throughout the world.

A free workshop is planned for Thursday, February 24 (two sessions, pick one): 9:30 to 11:00 am or 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Faculty, research administrators, sponsored program staff, library science staff, and anyone interested in COS are encouraged to attend.

Registration is required, see RF.buffalostate.edu for registration details and more information.
