Active Minds Buffalo State Student Organization Leadership Opportunities

Posted:

Although Active Minds has only been in existence at Buffalo State since spring 2010, it is quickly making it's presence known through the passionate, creative and energetic members and officers that have organized and participated in several innovative initiatives such as BeSeCret Community Art Project and Send Silence Packing as well as partnering with departments such as Health Promotions, Student Life and the The Counseling Center on like-minded projects. Active Minds is an official chapter of the National Active Minds (www. Activeminds.org) organization. Please encourage students to check it out 12:15-1:PM on Friday afternoons in Classroom Building B108. Officers will be elected in the next few weeks. There is a rewarding opportunity to continue to change the conversation at Buffalo State College regarding Mental Health, to decrease the stigma associated with mental health concerns and receiving support, and increase awareness of resources. Students interested in Leadership, Empowerment, and Connecting with others will really enjoy their involvement with Active MInds. Contact the officers for more information through their facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=296189300748.
