Egypt Today: Historic Connections

Posted:

B.G. Flickinger will be the guest speaker of the Buffalo-Lille Association Inc. on Tuesday, April 26, at 7:30 p.m. in E. H. Butler Library 210. Flickinger became interested in Egypt the same way that Vatican curators became interested in Egyptian art and culture. She has studied with Robert Bianchi, who wrote the catalog section about the Vatican Egyptian collection. As a result, her lecture promises to be quite interesting and informational. Everyone is welcome to attend this free lecture.

Tell Students: Active Minds Leadership Opportunities

Posted:

Although Active Minds has only been in existence at Buffalo State since spring 2010, it has quickly made its presence known through several innovative initiatives, such as the BeSeCret Community Art Project and Send Silence Packing, and partnerships with such offices as Health Promotions, Student Life, and the Counseling Center.

Active Minds is an official chapter of the National Active Minds organization. Please encourage students to check us out Fridays from 12:15 to 1:00 p.m. in Classroom Building B108. Officers will be elected in the next few weeks. There are rewarding opportunities to change the conversation at Buffalo State regarding mental health, to decrease the stigma associated with mental health concerns and receive support, and increase awareness of mental health resources. Students interested in leadership, empowerment, and connecting with others will really enjoy their involvement with Active Minds. Contact the officers through their Facebook page for more information.

Inventory updates and inventory control procedures are going to be sent to each department in April and May. The information is intended to address questions concerning campus use of the Property Control System and departmental participation in established inventory control procedures. Forms to be used by the campus community for updating purposes are part of the procedures packet and can be duplicated for departmental use.

When your department receives their departmental inventory update, please review your inventory records and inform the Business Services Office of any discrepancies between the report information and the actual status of your inventory. The “Inventory Update Forms” included with the procedures should be duplicated and used for this purpose. The inventory spread sheet must be returned to Business Services no later than 30 days from the day that the inventory was received. It is important to complete your department’s inventory in order to be in compliance with SUNY Policy.
