Professional Development: Whiteboard Content Management in Elluminate

In this webinar, the SUNY Center for Professional Development will present individual Elluminate whiteboard tools, talk about how the whiteboard can be used, and demonstrate how to manage your content through the whiteboard.

The webinar will be held on Wednesday, November 2, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. and will cover the following Whiteboard Window Frame topics:

  • loading PowerPoint files and images
  • creating new whiteboards
  • manipulating whiteboard files through a screen explorer

There will be an opportunity for questions and to go over any specific features you would like to learn about. No experience with Elluminate is necessary. The session is designed to be hands-on. You can participate in the webinar at any location that provides Internet access.

McNair Alumni Fundraiser: Dining to Donate

The McNair Scholars Alumni Chapter invites you to attend its scholarship fundraiser at the Delaware Applebee’s, 2656 Delaware Avenue, on Wednesday, October 26. Dine in the restaurant any time from 11:00 a.m. to closing and Applebee’s will donate 10 percent of your check (excluding tax and tip) to the David Matyjasik Scholarship Fund, named in honor of a McNair scholar who tragically passed away in 2003. The “Dining to Donate” event voucher must be presented at the time of payment for the scholarship fund to receive credit. Parking and Traffic Advisory: Lincoln Parkway Closed Thursday Evening

Students, faculty, and staff who regularly park off campus on Lincoln Parkway should be advised that the roadway will be closed to vehicular traffic on Thursday, October 20, from 4:00 to 11:00 p.m. to accommodate tours associated with the National Preservation Conference. Parking meters are available in lots B-1, C, L-2, and X and are enforced until 7:00 p.m. Campus parking map (PDF).

Health and Nutrition Fair in Bulger Communication Center

Students from the coordinated program of dietetics will present a Health and Nutrition Fair, open to the entire campus, on Thursday, October 20, during Bengal Pause (12:15–1:30 p.m.) in the Bulger Communication Center lobby. If you're looking for information on a healthier U—or just wondering about resources in the area—stop by the fair, where a great deal of information will be conveniently gathered in one place!

There will be free samples (including pedometers) while supplies last, and a bake sale with discounts for those who take part in the fair's offerings! Proceeds will support a local charity.

Sponsored in part by the Dietetics and Nutrition Department, the Nutrition Club, the Buffalo State Fitness Center, Chartwells, Health Promotions, the WNY Gluten Free Diet Support Group Inc., WIC, and the FDA.
