Join Economics and Finance Department faculty Ted Byrley, chair and associate professor; Joelle Leclaire, assistant professor; William Ganley, professor; Ted Schmidt, associate professor; and moderator Bruce Fisher, visiting professor and director of the Center for Economic and Policy Studies, for a panel discussion on "The Global Economic Crisis and the Obama Stimulus Plan: Will the Obama Plan Work?" This discussion will be held Tuesday, April 7, during Bengal Pause (12:15 to 1:30 p.m.) in Bulger Communication Center South.

Professor Dominic H. Ryan of McGill University will give a talk titled "Why Can't You Use Thermal Neutrons to Study Gadolinium-Based Materials?" today, Thursday, April 2, at 12:30 p.m. in Science Building 272. He will show how Mossbauer spectroscopy and neutron diffraction provide complementary information about magnetic ordering and how they can also lead to a better understanding of the impact of the magnetic environment on the observed hyperfine interactions.
