Workshops: Ending Violence One Green Dot at a Time

Posted:

Hundreds of women and men in the US and around the world are victims of rape, partner violence, and stalking everyday. These crimes are like red dots on a map, spreading like an unchecked epidemic. We can stop the red dots. The solution is a reflection on the problem. Our individual and collective efforts, that is, our "green dots," can stop the epidemic of violence on our map. Each one of us has a role to play as a bystander in our society. On Friday, April 24, in the Campbell Student Union Social Hall, national expert Dr. Dorothy Edwards, director of the Violence Intervention and Prevention Center at the University of Kentucky, will present on the importance of the "bystander" in ending violence on campus and in our community. This 1 1/2 hour session will be repeated three different times, at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 2:30 p.m.
