The Native American Student Organization (N.A.S.O.) hosts a concert featuring Grammy Award-winning songwriter and musician, Joanne Shenandoah (Oneida), in the Rockwell Hall Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, April 1, starting at 8:00 p.m. The concert is the culminating event for N.A.S.O.'s 18th annual Native American Heritage Celebration Month. This year's theme is "Honoring Our Native Women."
The Office 2007 sandbox workshops will let you play with the new Office Suite before it is deployed across campus on May 15. This is a drop-in, hands-on workshop where you can experiment with the new Office Suite, get a feel for it, and experience the differences that are coming. Registration is not required, but recommended. A workshop schedule is available on the CyberQuad registration page.
A few days ago, you may have received information about incidence and mortality rates of colorectal cancer (CRC) in Erie County. Your participation in a short survey will help health educators develop materials to increase early detection of CRC among those age 40 and over.
Per New York State requirement, many buildings on campus now have automated external defibrillators (AEDs). If you are interested in learning how to use the AED and to perform CPR, enroll in a free class at Weigel Health Center. In two hours, you can learn the skills to perform CPR, to use an AED, and to relieve a choking victim. Classes are scheduled for the following dates and times:

If a faculty or staff member has a registration fee for a conference, workshop, seminar or meeting, they should submit it to the Accounting Office for processing. Send the completed registration form, travel authorization with all approval signatures, account number to be charged, and documentation pertaining to what, if any, meals are included in the registration fee. Be sure to check the registration fee pre-payment box on the travel authorization and provide the Federal ID number of the payee.
The Instruction and Research Committee of the College Senate has created two subcommittees (one for Research and one for Technology and Instruction) to explore issues related to instruction and research on campus. If you have any issues you would like these committees to investigate, please e-mail the subcommittee chairs with your questions. Meghan Pereira is the Technology and Instruction subcommittee chair. Greg Wadsworth is the Research subcommittee chair.
The Native American Student Organization (NASO) invites you to a presentation on the history, functions, and artistry of raised beadwork as part of the 18th annual Native American Heritage Month Celebration. Lorna Hill and Sam Thomas (Cayuga), an internationally renowned beader, will present two events on Thursday, March 20. The first will be a beadwork workshop held during Bengal Pause (12:15-1:30 p.m.) in Ketchum Hall 219. Space is limited to 30 participants. The second is a presentation and discussion of the origin, use, and art of raised beadwork to be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center East 2. Both events are free and open to the public. NASO is a United Students Government (USG) recognized student group and this is a USG sponsored event.
The Buffalo State search engine has recently experienced a series of hardware and software issues. This has made the search less reliable than we would like over the last few weeks. However, we are pleased to announce that the issues are being remedied and the search engine is returning to its normal function.
