October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Look for pink ribbons and pink ribbon cookies that will be handed out every week on Tuesdays from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union. In addition, mark your calendars for the Wellness Wednesday event "Pink Ribbons Are Not Just For Little Girls: Breast Cancer Awareness," being held on October 29, from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union Assembly Hall. Applications and nominations are being accepted through Friday, October 24, 2008, for the May 2009 Emerging College Leaders program for faculty and professional staff. The program dates are May 19–21 and 27–28, 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., with follow-up sessions in September and January. The University at Buffalo Intercultural and Diversity Center will hold a conference titled "Team Work Makes the Dream Work: What's Your Dream Today?" on Saturday, November 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Three conference tracks include the following: 1) Student track, designed to empower students; 2) Educator track, designed to explore inclusive learning environments for college faculty and pre-service teachers; and 3) a Professionals and Community members track, designed to facilitate collaborations among professionals and the WNY community.
