The Communication Department will hold a rough cut focus group screening of "We Love You," a 40-minute documentary film about a group of utopian anarchists who create temporary cities deep in national forests, much to the chagrin of federal law enforcement authorities who try to control them.

Learn About Study in Siena, Italy

On Tuesday, September 23, at 12:15 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center North 2C and at 7:30 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center West, students will learn how they can spend a semester studying in Siena, Italy. They will also find out how courses taken there fulfill requirements at Buffalo State, how financial aid applies to the program, and about the array of scholarships available. Family members are invited to the program at 7:30 p.m. to learn more about how students can partake in an experience that has been transforming students' lives since 1961.

Walking Tour of the West Side of Buffalo for Faculty and Staff

The College and Community Partnerships Office has arranged a guided walking tour of several West Side neighborhoods that are in close proximity to the Buffalo State campus. Harvey Garrett and Gary Welborn, both residents of the West Side, will lead the 1.5–2 hour tour highlighting rehabilitation of housing examples west of Richmond Avenue. The tour will take place on Tuesday, September 23, beginning at 4:30 p.m. R.S.V.P. by calling the Partnership Office at ext. 4132 or e-mail partner@buffalostate.edu. RF QuickView is the Research Foundation’s (RF) newest tool for Principal Investigators (PIs) to manage their awards. This inquiry-only application provides quick access to award, project, and task information for PIs and project and sponsored programs administrative staff through an RF Web site portal account. An online slideshow is available by clicking Introduction to RF Quick View. For PIs, this link is available in the RF Quick View portlet on the RF home page www.rfsuny.org. Houghton Chapter Talk Tonight

Tonight will feature Art Conservation Department graduate student Katherine Ragan discussing "Archaeological Conservation at Mt. Lykaion, Sanctuary of Zeus, Arcadia, Greece." The talk is free and open to the public.

Walk For Fitness Update

Congratulations to everyone on the Walk For Fitness team on their completion of the 5,048 mile trek across the United States. Beginning in Delaware and finishing at the Golden Gate Bridge, these members met three times each week for the past five weeks. Our tour guide and fearless leader Barb led all of the participants around campus and into Delaware Park incorporating exercise into each walk. All of the team members showed great improvement from week to week and enjoyed their time in the group.

Yoga Class Offered

Yoga is back! Help keep your mind and body healthy by joining your colleagues in a six-week on-campus yoga class taught by local certified instructor, Quinn Caya. Classes will be held Tuesdays from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Houston Gym from September 23 through October 28 (a second session is pending for those who wish to continue/join later). If you are interested in joining the fall 2008 Yoga Session, please complete the registration form (PDF) and submit to Tamara in Caudell Hall 114 along with the $45 course fee before the first class.
