Buffalo State College, in partnership with Grant Writing USA, will present a two-day grant-writing workshop in Buffalo, January 10–11, 2006. This workshop is suitable for beginning and experienced grant-writers who desire to increase their fund-raising competitiveness and broaden their funder focus. Buffalo State College's Newman Scholar's Forum presents a panel discussion on Monday, November 7, at 7:00 p.m. at the Newman Center, 1219 Elmwood Ave. (at the corner of Penhurst Park.). Panelists include Sister Marianne Ferguson, OSF, Ph.D., professor, Philosophy and Humanities, Buffalo State College (Christian/Catholic perspective); Nancy Atkinson, M.Ed., Ph.D. candidate, Department of Education Leadership, University at Buffalo (Jewish perspective); and Kathy Ahmed, principal, Universal School of Buffalo (Islam perspective). Coins for Caring Collection and Tribute to New Orleans Tickets

Don't throw away that spare change! On Wednesday, November 2, between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., members of the Coalition for Katrina Relief Efforts will make their way around campus to collect the spare change that has been collecting in your desk drawer, your coat pocket, and the bottom of your purse. Every little bit counts and can make a very big difference.

A Celtic Music Celebration Comes to Rockwell Hall Friday, November 4

The Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall proudly presents Canada’s first family of Celtic music, the Barra MacNeils, with special guest the Cottars, this Friday, November 4, at 8:00 p.m. Their appearance at the Performing Arts Center is part of the 2005–2006 Great Performers Series, presented by M&T Bank. Tickets are $27 for Buffalo State faculty and staff. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased in person at the Rockwell Hall Box Office or by phone at 878-3005. Box Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
