Join the Visual Arts Board and the Art Education, Fine Arts, and Design students at their exhibition reception on Thursday, December 1, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Upton Gallery. Awards will be presented to six outstanding artists. The exhibition was juried by Claire Schneider, associate curator of contemporary art with the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.

Faculty and staff members are invited to submit information on their recent achievements for the February 2006 issue of the Buffalo State Insider. The deadline for submissions is Monday, December 19. Please include your name, title, department or office, e-mail address, and a brief description of your accomplishment(s), including date(s).

A free event featuring local musicians and artists will take place this Friday, December 2, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union. "Buffalo Rockstars: The Art and Music Celebration That Inspires" will include concerts from five local bands—Vera; The Missing Planes; The Frodis Caper; About Time; and Hello Star, Vega—Buffalo State Step Expression, an art show of local artists’ work, food, prizes, and more. In conjunction with Revitalize Buffalo, an informative forum with local celebrity speakers will be held in the Fireside Lounge. This concert event has been developed by the CRS 303 Leadership class as part of a service-learning course.

The planning committee for the Phil Santa Maria memorial celebration wishes to thank all those who contributed to the program as speakers, performers, technical help, backstage crew, dining services help, or in any other capacity. We also thank those who attended for making this event a success. DVDs of the program are available.
