How to Address Registration Restrictions and Overrides

How to Grant Special Approval (Instructor Permission) in Self-Service Banner (PDF)

FAQ No. 22: After receiving an instructor’s permission, does a student still have to go back and register? Yes. More FAQs.

Request for Registration Override: Automatic E-mail to Students' Gmail Accounts: When a student attempts to register in Banner and receives a registration add error, an automatic e-mail message is sent to his or her Gmail account. This e-mail provides detailed information including the actual error message the student received and the instructor's Buffalo State e-mail address. The e-mail will contain all relevant information related to the student, the registration add error, and the course number/CRN. The student can forward this e-mail to the instructor to request an override. The instructor can then grant the override if the student meets the necessary criteria to be registered in the course.

Forwarding Gmail Messages to Cell Phones: Students can forward important Gmail messages (for example, waitlist notifications) to their cell phones. Detailed information is available on the Computing and Technology Services website.

SAMC Phase 2: Upcoming Impact to Lot S-1

Posted:

As part of the ongoing Science and Mathematics Complex (SAMC) Phase 2 construction project, workers will station a crane in Lot S-1 to lift steel to the roof of SAMC. To accommodate this placement, 12 parking spaces will be off-line from June 20 to 27. In addition, the north-south walkway on the east side of the Science Building will be closed for safety, as the crane will be lifting over this area. Pedestrians in this area can travel north or south by going through the SAMC atrium or through Lot S-1 to the east.

Questions about this project may be e-mailed to vpfm@buffalostate.edu. For more information about construction projects on campus, please visit www.buffalostate.edu/construction.
