Caudell Hall Renovation Under Way

Posted:

The Caudell Hall project, which will rehabilitate spaces for departments in Buffalo State’s School of the Professions, is under way. Classrooms, labs, and offices will be renovated, and corridors will be relocated. An updated southwest entrance will provide new restrooms, an elevator, and an accessible ramp. In addition, the building's exterior will be reclad with aluminum, glass, and terra cotta panels.

The campus has relinquished access to Lot U and the lower portion of Lot T for construction purposes through summer 2016. Staff members formerly housed in Caudell Hall have moved to new locations, and parking demand is expected to shift westward along with staff, who have relocated primarily to Buckham Hall.

The Caudell Hall renovation project includes the removal of the Caudell Annex, which will ultimately allow the connection of lots T and U, thereby providing improved traffic flow.

Questions about this project may be e-mailed to vpfm@buffalostate.edu. For more information about capital projects on campus, please visit www.buffalostate.edu/construction.

Weeks of Welcome 2014

Posted:

The Student Life Office is excited to collaborate with offices, departments, and organizations across campus to offer Weeks of Welcome 2014, a series of events designed to welcome new first-year, transfer, and graduate students to SUNY Buffalo State, as well as to welcome back returning students.

Everyone is invited to offer ideas and suggestions and to contribute to the schedule. The calendar of events spans the first four weeks of the fall semester, beginning immediately after Orientation, August 22, and concluding with Homecoming and Family Weekend, September 17–20.

Weeks of Welcome programs continue the orientation process for new students by elaborating on the information and opportunities initially presented during the Orientation program and motivating new students to reach their full potential at Buffalo State through engagement. Events and activities are also designed for returning students, to welcome them back to campus and enhance their connection to Buffalo State.

Please complete this form so that we know what events are being planned and can add them to the WOW schedule. Include how each program fits the stated goals and objectives for WOW2014.

Look to the WOW2014 website and calendar (will be updated soon) so that you know what events are already being planned. While we are not suggesting that more than one program can’t happen at the same time, we’d like to spread similar events across the schedule.

For additional information regarding Weeks of Welcome 2014, please contact Kristen Catalano, assistant director of student life, ext. 4631.
