The following were submitted to the College Senate Office by the 15th of the month and have been forwarded to the College Senate Curriculum Committee for review on October 25:

New Courses:
BUS 364 Supply-Chain Management. Prerequisites: MAT 311 or ECO 305 or equivalent and BUS 360. Design and management of supply chains for competing effectively in global markets. The management of specific functions such as procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and interorganizational information and coordination. Topics include qualitative and quantitative techniques for optimum configuration of supply chains, including design of configuration, postponement, mass customization, location, vendor-managed inventory, supply networks, and strategic alliances.

GEG 584 Geospatial Programming. Prerequisite: Instructor permission. Introduction to Python programming focusing on the development of Python scripts and custom tools for processing and analysis of geospatial data. Automating geoprocessing workflows, creating custom analysis tool, and customizing user interfaces.

MAT 430 Set Theory. Prerequisite: MAT 300 with a minimum grade of C. Fundamental facts about abstract sets—relations, functions, natural numbers, order, cardinality, transfinite recursion, the axiom of choice, Zorn’s lemma, ordinal numbers, and cardinal numbers—within the framework of axiomatic set theory.  Axioms used to investigate infinite sets and to generalize the concepts of induction and recursion. Offered fall semester.

Curricular Proposals: New Deadlines and Process

As part of the new curricular process, all associate deans must submit curricular proposals to the College Senate Office via KissFlow by the 15th of each month. The College Senate Office will log and forward all submissions received by the 15th to the Curriculum Committee for review. Proposals received after the 15th will be reviewed the following month.

Please continue to check the curricular announcements in the Daily Bulletin on Thursdays to see when proposals have been received, reviewed, and forwarded to the president. Please remember that any course or program challenges must be received by the College Senate Curriculum Committee chair within 15 days of initial publication of the course or program in the Daily Bulletin.

All proposals must be submitted via KissFlow. Associate deans can provide guidance on this new process. Any proposals not submitted through KissFlow will not be accepted unless previous arrangements have been made between the curricular chair and the respective associate dean. All programs must meet SUNY mandates.

GEG 583 Geographic Information Interpolation Methods. Prerequisite: GEG 525 or equivalent. Geographic information interpolation methods to predict continuously distributed large datasets of geographic features using sampled data. Two approaches identified in practice: deterministic interpolation and geostatistical interpolation. Concepts and theories of geographic information interpolation models and their application, in particular for multivariable analysis. Offered occasionally.

Course Revision with Intellectual Foundations Designation:
WESTERN CIVILIZATION
GEG 206 Geography of New York State. Landforms, regions, climates, and natural resources; distribution of population; location and functions of cities; development of transportation; use and conservation of soil, mineral, forest, wildlife, and water resources; industrial development. Offered annually each fall semester.

New Course:
PSC 398 Legal Research and Writing. Prerequisites: CWP 101 and 102; PSC 250, or instructor permission. Introduction to the rules and techniques of legal research and writing. Discovering law through electronic and bound legal sources and applying it to specific legal situations. Students communicate results through generally accepted legal techniques: oral presentation, legal memos, legal briefs.
