Iroquois Drive Reconstruction to Resume August 3: Impacts to Traffic and Parking

Posted:

The second and final phase of the reconstruction of Iroquois Drive is scheduled to begin Monday, August 3, and continue through the fall semester. The work will be confined to the ends of Iroquois Drive, at Elmwood Avenue and at Grant Street.

Work will begin near the intersection of Iroquois Drive and Elmwood Avenue. While all parking lots accessed from Iroquois Drive will remain open during construction and will be accessible from either Grant Street or Elmwood Avenue, temporary road closures will occur. Drivers may need to revise their traffic patterns during these periods.

During times when through traffic on Iroquois Drive cannot be maintained, drivers will be directed to use Rockwell Road. A two-way detour to Rockwell Road will be posted. About 200 student parking spaces will be off-line in the northern portion of Lot I-39 while this project is underway.

The Iroquois Drive reconstruction project will replace the deteriorated roadway and drainage system, and provide additional sidewalks for pedestrian use. High-visibility crosswalks and LED site lighting will be added.

Thank you for your patience as this important construction project resumes. Questions may be e-mailed to vpfm@buffalostate.edu.
