Technical Issues with the Online Directory

Posted:

If you have noticed some inconsistencies with the Buffalo State College online directory, please know that Information Technology, Human Resource Management, and Marketing and Communications are aware of the problems. New faculty and staff members may not be added, and separated faculty and staff members may continue to appear. Additionally, colleagues have reported difficulty in navigating between pages.

IT is working on the problems. While it may be some time before the issues are resolved, we will keep you posted via the Daily Bulletin.

Ensemble Video Spring Cleanup

Posted:

Now is a great time to take a look at the videos stored in your Ensemble Video Media Library and delete any files you no longer need. These may include

  • student drop box submissions you won't use again (more than six months have passed since grades have been assigned for the class),
  • practice videos that are no longer needed,
  • original files that have been edited into more concise clips,
  • outdated or irrelevant materials,
  • videos that violate copyright law (Know Your Copyrights).

Please see the Knowledge Base article "Cleaning Up Files in the Ensemble Media Library" for more information.

Individual Ensemble training or question sessions can be scheduled through the Innovation and Learning Collaborative Bookings page.

EAP Webinar: 'Someday Is Today to Create a Bucket List or Vision Board!' - February 3

Posted:

The campus community is invited to attend the New York State EAP webinar “Someday Is Today to Create a Bucket List or Vision Board!” on Thursday, February 3, from noon to 1:00 p.m.

The WellNYS Everyday Monthly Challenge for February is to create a bucket list or vision board. So instead of saying, “Someday I’ll travel,” or set a life goal, or accomplish that dream you've had for years, join this 30-minute webinar to learn how to start or continue a bucket list or vision board and make that goal a reality. Also, find out more about NYS Work Life Services programs for NYS employees and their families. This seminar will be presented by Linda Carignan-Everts, EAP wellness coordinator, NYS Work-Life Services.

Please register through the WebEx meeting registration page. You will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to join the seminar.

February Holidays 2022

Posted:

Lincoln’s Birthday - Saturday, February 12
The Governor’s Office of Employee Relations has designated Lincoln’s Birthday, Saturday, February 12, as a floating holiday for all state employees except those represented by PBANYS. Employees eligible to observe the holiday will be credited with a floating holiday and may arrange with their supervisors to use the credit on a date of their choice before the holiday recurs. For Security Services Unit employees who are eligible to observe holidays, Election Day and Lincoln's Birthday will be observed as fixed holidays. When such employees are required to work on these holidays, their benefits will be determined in the same manner as is currently followed for other holidays on which they are required to work.

Washington’s Birthday - Monday, February 21
No classes are scheduled on Monday, February 21, and the Washington’s Birthday holiday will be observed on this date. All offices are closed.

Questions regarding state holidays should be directed to Human Resource Management, (716) 878-4822.

Registrar's Office: Please Remind Students to Print a Copy of Their Schedule

Posted:

Students should be reminded to print a copy of their schedule after each change they make and before the start of classes. Printing the most current copy of their schedule gives them a handy reference reflecting their current enrollment and can be shown to instructor(s) if needed. Students should always double-check their schedule carefully for accuracy and make sure they are aware of any changes that may have occurred to the section (for example, the building or room the class meets in).

To print a copy of the schedule, students should follow this path in Banner self-service:

  • Student
  • Registration
  • View Required Books, Course Materials and Printable Schedule
  • Select Term and Submit
  • Click Submit button for printer-friendly version of the class schedule
