College Senate Election through Tuesday, December 10

From the Chair of the College Senate Bylaws and Elections Committee:

Following the resignation of Senator Gliset Morales, the College Senate will hold a special election December 4-10 to fill one at-large College Senate seat (academic only) for the term ending May 2027. 

Eligible members of the full-time faculty can log in to the voting portal using their Buffalo State credentials to access the ballot. The election will run from 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, to 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, December 10.

EAB Navigate Overviews

The members of the EAB Navigate Implementation Team are very excited to invite our campus partners to get an overview of our new student interaction system: EAB Navigate! The time has finally come to show the campus what this fantastic tool can do! This product will continue to do so many amazing things, like it did in BSP, but it also brings with it a number of new processes and approaches that can improve communication and retention on campus.

This is part one of a two-part experience. This is the overview session. During the month of January, we are looking to do training sessions that will get you up and running and prepared to use Navigate in the spring semester.

Social studies education teacher candidates enrolled in SSE 407: Teaching of History will present their findings and recommendations for dissecting social studies at a public display today, December 5, from 10:50 a.m. to 12:05 p.m in the Butler Library front lobby. All are welcome.

The Teaching of History course focuses on research studies and practitioner projects to inform teacher candidates' professional knowledge. Please participate in this public gallery walk that displays research efforts and potential solutions to transform the teaching of social studies.

English Department Book Sale Holiday Hours: December 10-11

The English Department book sale in Ketchum Hall 327 will have special holiday hours on Tuesday, December 10, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., and Wednesday, December 11, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. The sale also may be visited by appointment. Contact the English Department office for details. A new science fiction and fantasy section has just been added. The sale also includes fiction, biography, mysteries, poetry, drama, art, history, and books about writing, literary criticism, and linguistics. It's time to buy yourself a present! Celebration of Service for the Center for Global Engagement, December 5

The Maurene Callahan Bouras Center for Global Engagement cordially invites you to celebrate the accomplishments of the center and Joy Guarino's years of service to the Buffalo State community. Guarino has served as director of Maurene Callahan Bouras Center for Global Engagement, as professor and coordinator of the dance program, and as a member of a variety of committees and organizations, as well as vice chair of Campus House and a proud Buffalo State alum.
