USG Elections are happening!

Tell Students: Student elections are right around the corner! From March 17th-20th, students have the opportunity to shape the future of student leadership and campus life by casting their vote in the Campbell Student Union Lower Lobby.

Not only will they be selecting representatives for Student Government, but they will also be voting on whether to keep the Student Activity Fee mandatory—a crucial funding source that supports student organizations, events, and services that enhance their overall college experience.

Encourage students to vote and that their vote matters! Please visit https://usg.buffalostate.edu/news for more information.

  • how to create a web page in Brightspace
  • how to use Brightspace document templates to create accessible and responsive content
  • how to transfer existing content from Word documents and PDFs to Brightspace web pages

A computer is not required for this session, but please bring your own device if you would like to work in your Brightspace course during this session.

The "Creating User Friendly Pages in Brightspace" workshop will take place on Tuesday, March 11 from 9:30am - 10:30am in Butler Library 318. To register for this session, please visit the workshop registration system.

To learn more about creating webpages in Brightspace, visit the Create a File (Web Page) in Brightspace knowledge base article in the IT Portal.

2025-26 Housing Application is LIVE

Posted:

The application to live on campus for the 2025-26 academic year is now available to students through their My Housing portal. Students access the My Housing portal through the student tab in Banner.

There is a $125 application fee that must be paid when a student is completing the housing application. If a student would like to request a fee waiver for the application, they may do so by following the instructions within the application. Fee-waivers will be granted based on financial need.

If a student wants to live with a specific roommate, they may match with them on the My Housing portal. Both roommates will need to match with each other in order to be paired. Students wishing to live in the same suite must all pair with one another in order to be a suitemate group.

Once paired up, students can select a room together when room selection opens. Room selection opens on March 21 for students who have a full roommate or suitemate group, or on April 7 for anyone who doesn't have a roommate pairing.

Buffalo State University has an on-campus housing residency requirement. All full‐time first-year and sophomore students whose permanent residency is beyond a 35 mile radius of Buffalo State are required to reside on campus for 4 consecutive semesters or until they earn 60 credits, whichever comes first. Those exempt from this requirement include married students, transfer students, single parents, veterans, students over the age of 21, and students commuting from the home of their parent(s) or court appointed guardian(s) if within a 35-mile radius of the Buffalo State University campus. All students who are required to live on-campus as a result of this policy should sign up for housing as soon as they are able in order to select their preferred room next year.
