Ted Schmidt, associate professor of economics and finance, presented the paper "Endogenous Liquidity in Developing Countries" at the 16th conference of the Macroeconomic Policy Institute (IMK) at the Hans-Boeckler Foundation, Research Network Macroeconomics and Macroeconomic Policies (FMM), October 25–27, in Berlin, Germany. The paper was coauthored by Alfredo Castillo-Polanco, research professor at the University of Quintana Roo, in Chetumal, Mexico.

Carolyn Guzski, assistant professor of music, presented the paper "New Evidence on Artists of Color at the Metropolitan Opera" at the 78th annual meeting of the American Musicological Society, held in New Orleans, Louisiana, November 1–4.

Deborah Silverman, associate professor of communication, was inducted into the Public Relations Society of America's College of Fellows for significant contributions to the public relations profession during the PRSA International Conference, held in San Francisco, California, October 13–16. She also presented a research poster, "An Assessment of the State of Public Relations Ethics Education," at the PRSA Educators Academy Research Session on October 13, and chaired a program on social media ethics for students attending the Public Relations Student Society of America national conference in San Francisco on October 15.

Elisa Bergslien, associate professor of earth sciences and science education, presented "Geochemical Analysis of Cremated Human Remains" at the Geological Society of America's annual meeting and exposition, held in Charlotte, North Carolina, November 4–7.

Jane Cushman, associate professor of mathematics, presented "Which Cup Material (Ceramic, Paper, or Styrofoam) Will Hold Hot Coffee Hottest Longest?" at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) regional conference and exposition in Hartford, Connecticut, October 24–26.

A chapter by Bridget María Chesterton, assistant professor of history and social studies education, titled “Antecedentes históricos sobre el nacionalismo paraguayo y el problema del agua a comienzos del siglo XX,” will be published in the book Las Terceras Jornadas de Historia Paraguaya (Asunción, Paraguay: Tiempo de Historia, 2013).

Kathy Gaye Shiroki, curator of museum learning and community engagement at the Burchfield Penney Art Center and lecturer in the Art Education Department, published an essay in A Handbook for Academic Museums: Exhibitions and Education. The chapter, "Peer-to-Peer Tours," explains the process and highlights the collaboration between Buffalo State students guiding their peers in the museum connecting the visiting class core curriculum. 

James Mayrose, department chair and associate professor of technology, and Katherine Hartman, associate professor of art education, are quoted in the essay.

A chapter by Stephen Gareau and Ruth Guo, associate professors of computer information systems, titled "Let's Take an Excursion! The Use of Museums in K–12 Teacher Education," has been published in the book The Museum: Between Research and Education (A. Émond, ed.; Éditions MultiMondes, 2012).

Joëlle Leclaire, associate professor of economics and finance, presented the paper "Household Debt after the Financial Crisis" at the 11th International Post Keynesian Conference, held in Kansas City, Missouri, September 27–29.

Carolyn Guzski, assistant professor of music, published the chapter “Saint-Saëns in New York" in the Bard Music Festival volume Saint-Saëns and His World, ed. Jann Pasler, pp. 191–200 (Princeton University Press, 2012) and “Le ballet américain au Metropolitan Opera” in Les Cahiers de la Société québécoise de recherche en musique 13 (1-2): 43–50 (September 2012).
