Ted Schmidt, associate professor of economics and finance, presented the paper "Endogenous Liquidity in Developing Countries" at the 16th conference of the Macroeconomic Policy Institute (IMK) at the Hans-Boeckler Foundation, Research Network Macroeconomics and Macroeconomic Policies (FMM), October 25–27, in Berlin, Germany. The paper was coauthored by Alfredo Castillo-Polanco, research professor at the University of Quintana Roo, in Chetumal, Mexico.

Deborah Silverman, associate professor of communication, was inducted into the Public Relations Society of America's College of Fellows for significant contributions to the public relations profession during the PRSA International Conference, held in San Francisco, California, October 13–16. She also presented a research poster, "An Assessment of the State of Public Relations Ethics Education," at the PRSA Educators Academy Research Session on October 13, and chaired a program on social media ethics for students attending the Public Relations Student Society of America national conference in San Francisco on October 15.

Kathy Gaye Shiroki, curator of museum learning and community engagement at the Burchfield Penney Art Center and lecturer in the Art Education Department, published an essay in A Handbook for Academic Museums: Exhibitions and Education. The chapter, "Peer-to-Peer Tours," explains the process and highlights the collaboration between Buffalo State students guiding their peers in the museum connecting the visiting class core curriculum.
