LIB 100 Introduction to Library Research. Overview of library collections and services to maximize research efficiency. Research strategies and tools for digital resources, periodical and reference databases, and web resources. Includes analysis of information literacy and critical thinking skills for encountering information in contemporary technology environments. Open to all students. Recommended for first-year students and sophomores. Offered every semester, beginning spring 2023.

New Courses:
BIO 441 Bioinformatics. Prerequisites: BIO 111, BIO 211, BIO 213, CHE 111, CHE 113, CHE 112, and CHE 114. Introduction to bioinformatics concepts and techniques. Bioinformatic applications in academic, biotechnological, clinical and pharmaceutical settings for analyzing individual DNA and protein sequences. No formal computer programming training or high-level mathematical skills required. Offered occasionally, beginning fall 2023.
CHE 327 Medicinal Plant Chemistry. Prerequisites: CHE 202, CHE 204, and CHE 325. Overview of plants as sources of chemical compounds; classes of natural products from plant sources, their biosynthesis, and their uses in medicine, flavorings, cosmetics, and recreation; extraction, purification, and analysis of phytochemical compounds from the different parts of plants; overview of the cannabis and hemp industry and applicable regulations. Offered occasionally, beginning fall 2023.
CHE 427 Cannabis Analysis. Prerequisites: CHE 327 and CHE 404. Overview of instrumental methods for the chemical analysis of target analytes in cannabis or cannabis-derived products. Use of laboratory analytical instruments for the separation, identification, and quantification of chemicals for the potency test and quality control of cannabis or its products. Development and validation of analytical methods Offered spring semester, beginning spring 2023.
EXE 673 Personnel Supervision and Management. Preparation for effective personnel supervision and management in the field of applied behavioral analysis. This training program is based on the Behavioral Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Supervisor Training Curriculum Outline (2.0), but is offered independently of the BCBA. Offered every semester, beginning fall 2023.
EXE 573 Foundations of Teaching Middle School Students with Disabilities. Focus on instructional procedures necessary for effective instruction of middle school students with disabilities and those with complex learning support needs. Offered occasionally, beginning fall 2023.
PSC 323 Governing New York State through Crisis (cross-listed with ECO 323). Prerequisites: PSC 102 or ECO 201 or instructor permission. NYS government, politics, and annual budget process. Topics include fiscal federalism, economic climate, NYS budget components and processes, contemporary policy issues, political parties, interest groups, and NYS government institutions. Offered spring semester, beginning spring 2023.
Course Revisions:
EXE 683 Supervision Practicum: Personnel Supervision and Management. Application of theories and principles of applied behavior analysis in special education and related settings. Focus on field supervision skills for personnel supervision and management. Required for BCBA certification. This training program is based on the Behavioral Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Supervisor Training Curriculum Outline (2.0), but is offered independently of the BCBA. FAR 220 Photography 1. Introduction to photography as a medium of art and personal, social, and cultural storytelling. Includes technical aspects of black-and-white film photography, darkroom practice, basic digital capture and editing, and image sequencing for meaning. Offered every semester, beginning fall 2023.

BIO 611 Biotechnology. Exploration of current technologies in molecular biology, cell biology, and immunology to address agricultural, environmental, industrial, and human health issues. Topics include recombinant DNA technology; DNA sequencing; RNA interference; CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing; monoclonal antibodies; immunotherapies; stem cells; genetically modified organisms; COVID-19 diagnosis, treatment, and vaccination; and regulations of biotechnology. Offered occasionally, beginning fall 2023.
HEA 615 Survey Design for Professionals. Fundamentals of survey methodology, including designing, administering, and analyzing surveys; principals of quality survey design to support research and data collection needs of organizations and institutions. Offered fall semester, beginning fall 2023.
