New Program:
Minor in Human Biology

New Course:
CHE 635 Solid-Phase Peptide Synthesis. Prerequisite: CHE 470. Overview of solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS). Peptides and peptidomimetics in drug discovery. Type, structure, and chemical composition of resins, orthogonal protecting and deprotecting groups, cleavage techniques, use of scavengers. Selection of coupling reagents for peptide bond formation, reaction mechanisms, washing protocol, compound recovery, and purification and sequencing of the peptide. Offered occasionally, beginning fall 2023.

New Course:
SWK 340 Applied Social Work. Prerequisites: SWK 330; social work majors only. Overview of the Just Practice social justice framework and the foundational theories used to create the Just Practice framework. Application of Just Practice and foundational theoretical perspectives in the assessment process at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels. Social work skills-based course. Offered spring semester, beginning spring 2024.

Course Revision:
HEA 622 Advising and Supporting Diverse College Populations (formerly Techniques of Counseling). Prerequisite: Graduate standing. Fundamental skills of advising and supporting diverse college student populations; needs assessment and design of culturally inclusive interventions, strategies, and programs; facilitating individual and organizational pathways to success. Offered fall and spring semesters, beginning fall 2023.
