Professional Development: How to Enhance Your Credibility as a Higher Ed Professional

Posted:

Navigating the current collegiate environment can be challenging for seasoned professionals, and it can be especially daunting for those just entering higher education. New staff members often feel torn between doing what they think is best and what their supervisors feel is the appropriate course of action.

This informative webinar on Friday, September 13, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in E. H. Butler Library 181B will provide recommendations on how to develop and maintain your integrity and effectiveness as a professional. The importance of managing your reputation, keeping your priorities straight, and remaining loyal to both those you serve as well as those to whom you are accountable will be emphasized. Getting things done while remaining true to yourself is a balancing act; tips for walking that fine line between being a creative, innovative professional and a team player will be provided. Specific examples and suggestions for accomplishing these goals will be presented in an entertaining manner, but the relevance of these insights to your career goals and professional relationships will be clear. Authenticity and how you communicate with others will be emphasized.
