Buffalo State Dining: Presidents Day Hours of Operation

Please note the following changes in Buffalo State Dining's hours of operation for Presidents Day recess, Monday and Tuesday, February 20 and 21:

Campbell Student Union Food Court
Spot Coffee: 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Smashed Burger: 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Sub Generation: 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Bengal Hall, Resident Dining
Brunch: 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Dinner: 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

All other dining locations will be closed.

Leadership Lecture Series: Mark Czarnecki

Mark J. Czarnecki, president of M&T Bank Corporation, will address the campus community on Tuesday, February 28, at 4:30 p.m. in E. H. Butler Library 210 as part of Buffalo State's Leadership Lecture Series. Czarnecki has overall responsibility for retail banking, business banking, consumer lending, marketing, the iinvestment and mortgage businesses, and all staff functions including technology, operations, human resources, and finance. He serves as chairman of the Board of Trustees of M&T Bank’s partner school, Westminster Community Charter School. In addition, Czarnecki is the vice chairman and trustee of the University at Buffalo’s Council, a director of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, and chairman of the New York Bankers Association.

His talk is open to the campus community.

The Robert J. Elmes Jr. Memorial Scholarship Committee and CSEA would like to congratulate the spring 2012 Robert J. Elmes Jr. Memorial Scholarship recipients, Kathrine Harrington and Derrick Sadkowski. Their hard work is to be commended, and their names will be added to a plaque in E. H. Butler Library. Please watch for an announcement in late summer to learn how to apply for the fall 2012 Robert J. Elmes Jr. Memorial Scholarships.

Bouquet Sale for Hospice Buffalo: Last Call!

We are still taking orders for beautiful mixed bouquets for $8 or large tribute bouquets for $30 in support of Hospice Buffalo. For each tribute bouquet sold, an $8 mixed bouquet will be sent to brighten the day of a current Hospice Buffalo patient. Advance orders will be taken until Friday, February 17.

To place an order or for more information, call or e-mail one of the three campus coordinators: Lily Bink, ext. 4419; Donna Doyle, ext. 4698; or Rita Gallagher, ext. 6022.

Cash or checks payable to Hospice Foundation are accepted. Payment is due at the time of bouquet pickup on March 5 or may be made ahead of time. The campus raised a record $2,682 for Hospice in 2011 through your generous support of the bouquet sale. Thank you for your support of Hospice Buffalo. Don't forget to order today!

Last semester, student e-mail changed to the Google Apps for Education environment. What does that mean for faculty and students? Learn about features in the new student e-mail platform and about the apps that students can now access. Talk about how these collaborative tools can be used in your classes. This workshop will be offered in E. H.
