Homecoming Food Drive Set for October 26

Faculty and staff members are encourage to participate in the Homecoming and Family Weekend Food Drive on Friday, October 26. The eighth annual event, part of the weeklong Homecoming festivities, benefits the Buffalo State Food Pantry. Buffalo State student-athletes will be canvassing the campus from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. for nonperishable food items. To schedule a pickup at your office, contact senior associate athletics director Tom Koller, chair of Homecoming and Family Weekend, ext. 6514.

Thank You from the Buffalo State Striders (ACS Breast Cancer Walk)

The UUP-sponsored Buffalo State Striders team participated in the American Cancer Society "Making Strides for Breast Cancer" walk on Sunday, September 30, bringing in $1,655 to help fight cancer. This inaugural team walk was a success because of our caring and generous Buffalo State community and friends. We thank all those who walked and all those who contributed funds to aid in our team's success!

Computer and Electronics Recycling Event Tomorrow

The Buffalo State Evergreen program will cohost an electronics recycling event on Saturday, October 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 485 Sunset Drive in Hamburg. Accepted will be personal electronics such as laptops,* desktops,* computer accessories, televisions, monitors, audio and video equipment, MP3 players, communications equipment, servers and IT equipment, printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, cell phones, PDAs, and anything else with a circuit board or cord. 

Please do not bring items containing Freon (air conditioners, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, etc.), gas-powered equipment, or household hazardous waste.

*All hard drives and private information will be securely wiped and destroyed.

The Undergraduate Research Small Grants Program provides up to $400 to assist students in carrying out their research and creative activities during the academic year; up to $600 may be requested for single projects involving two or more students. The award is designed to help defray the cost of travel, supplies, and other materials necessary to conduct the project. It is not intended as salary for the student. For information on this and other programs to support undergraduate research, visit the Undergraduate Research website.

Separate Deadlines for Students and Mentors
Deadline for student submission of applications: midnight Wednesday, October 10
Deadline for mentor submission of applications: midnight Friday, October 12

Applications must be completed online.
