Transgender Students in the Classroom and on Campus: Faculty and Staff Discussion

Posted:

As more openly transgender students enroll in college, faculty and staff may have questions and concerns about how to interact with these students and meet their needs on campus. We will provide some background information about transgender students and the issues they commonly face on college campuses. We then will discuss ways to sensitively and effectively handle issues that may arise in one-on-one conversations, classroom settings, and other campus activities involving transgender students. This event will provide a safe space to ask questions and improve your skills in working with students who are transgendered. Facilitated by faculty from the Women’s Studies Program.

“TUESDAY TALKS”

Posted:

"Tuesday Talks" are Brown Bag luncheons with a purpose...to discuss "Work/Life Balance"! How can we strike a balance between the two? Is one's personal strength and purpose a factor in the workplace? The talk will continue focusing on "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. A discussion of shared experiences is the goal, so reading the book is not required to attend.
