Ramadan in 2009 will start on Friday, August 21, and continue for 30 days until Saturday, September 19. Ramadan is the holiest month on the lunar Islamic calendar—a time for fasting, special prayers, and developing compassion for those less fortunate.

The Student Life PB&J Mondays series aims to help commuter students feel welcome and that they are a vital part of the Buffalo State community. We invite you to participate in this series by making and serving peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to commuter students in the Campbell Student Union's Fireside Lounge on Mondays (September 21, October 5, November 2, and December 7) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The Graduate Assistant (GA) in the Student Personnel Administration (SPA) Department assists the chair, faculty, and departmental secretary with administrative, programming, and research functions critical to the mission and goals of the program. 20 hours a week.
In July 2009, New York State adopted new regulations specifically applicable to NYS agencies, including SUNY-Buffalo State College and contractors providing services on behalf of agencies, requiring immediate measures to reduce emissions exhausted from certain diesel-fueled vehicles. Buffalo State College is also required to report on the status of its efforts to reduce emissions exhausted from its diesel vehicle fleet and diesel vehicles used by its contractors and subcontractors providing services on behalf of the college.

Calling all campus offices and departments! Please join United Students Government, student organizations, and academic clubs for our Weeks of Welcome Carnival of Clubs, Thursday, September 17, during Bengal Pause in Perry Quad. The purpose of Carnival of Clubs is to inform students about all the exciting ways to become involved on campus and introduce them to the different resources available. It is a great way for students and faculty/staff to meet, get involved, and uncover ways to connect in academically meaningful ways at Buffalo State College.

Open advisement for those interested in Career and Technical Education and Business and Marketing Education (CTE/BME) will be held Wednesday, August 26, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Bacon Hall 110. CTE/BME faculty will be available to assist all interested students. Be sure to bring any information needed for advisement (transcripts, Degree Navigator, etc.). More information about CTE/BME can be found on the Educational Foundations Department Web site.
The Burchfield Penney is hosting family nights at the museum on Thursday, August 6, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Workshops will take place in the Studio Classroom and docent-led tours of the exhibitions will be held on the half hour.
