Buffalo State to Introduce New Online Catalogs

Posted:

This fall, Buffalo State will introduce new online versions of its undergraduate and graduate catalogs. These convenient, easy-to-use references will provide faculty, staff, and students with the most accurate and up-to-date information available on academic programs and policies.

The new online catalogs will be fully searchable and will provide handy links to pertinent information on the Buffalo State website and departmental sites. Currently, the undergraduate and graduate catalogs are available online in static PDF format only.

The new catalogs address one of the major objectives of Buffalo State’s 2009-2013 Strategic Plan: to enhance the effectiveness and responsiveness of administrative operations. In a streamlined process, authorized content providers from each department will be able to easily review and update program information via the central catalog database’s user-friendly interface. Complete system training will be offered to content providers in the coming months by the Office of Information Services and Systems (ISAS).

A limited number of printed undergraduate and graduate catalogs will continue to be produced on a biannual basis. The university expects to realize significant cost savings by reducing its inventory of printed catalogs.

2010-2011 Internal Control Summary and Certification

Posted:

From the Vice President for Finance and Management
Buffalo State submitted its 2010–2011 Internal Control Summary and Certification to SUNY on March 25, 2011. This is a critical submission for the university in its attestation to a year’s worth of internal control program activities, reviews, and audits. Acceptance of Buffalo State’s certification by SUNY is a significant component in continued flexibility for procurement operations at the campus.

As a member of the Buffalo State community, you are aware that internal controls are everyone’s responsibility. We look forward to continuing support for internal controls and value your efforts toward this end.

At this time, staff in SUNY System Administration are reviewing campus submissions and preparing a SUNY-wide response for its report to New York State. We anticipate acceptance of our campus submission without issues of substance.

A copy of the campus submission is available on the Buffalo State Internal Control Program website. I encourage your review of Buffalo State’s certification submission and welcome any questions you may have.

Research Foundation Appointment: Director of CDHS

Posted:

From the office of Edgar H. "Ted" Turkle, vice president and operations manager, SUNY Research Foundation/Buffalo State

I am pleased to announce the immediate appointment of Michael Incorvia as the director/principal investigator of the Center for Development of Human Services (CDHS). Incorvia joined CDHS in 1990 as the manager of finance and budgets until being appointed interim director in November 2009.

Incorvia has provided exemplary leadership for the past two and a half years, guiding CDHS through the most difficult period in the center’s history. Our state sponsors concur in this decision and have expressed satisfaction and confidence in his leadership to date as well as in moving forward. His ongoing efforts to bring CDHS closer to the goals and objectives of both Buffalo State and the Research Foundation warrant our appreciation and support.
