Notice to Employees Enrolled in the New York State Health Insurance Program

Posted:

As a result of a recent appellate court decision, the Department of Civil Service announced revised health insurance rates effective April 1, 2007, and a special option transfer period. Details outlining these changes were recently mailed to your home.

Most employees will see a slight decrease in their biweekly premiums. Since premiums will increase for those enrolled in family coverage through Community Blue and Univera, only those employees will have the opportunity to change their health insurance carrier effective April 1, 2007. Change forms included in your information packet must be postmarked OR received in Human Resource Management by Friday, March 30. Late option transfer forms will not be accepted, and without a qualifying event, you will not be permitted to change your health insurance carrier until the regular option transfer period in November 2007.

Revised rates and detailed information about each health insurance plan are available online or in Cleveland Hall 410.

Employees will see the new biweekly premiums in their paychecks dated April 4, 2007.

Call Human Resource Management at ext. 4821 if you have questions.
