The next Winter Farmers Market at Buffalo State is Saturday, February 27. With more than 15 local vendors, food trucks, and music, this weekly community event has become a highlight of our winter weekends. The Winter Market will be open to the public each Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Buckham Hall A Wing. Help support our local growers and food producers—and have fun at the same time. This collaborative project is brought to you by the Small Business Development Center, the Research and Economic Development Office, and the Elmwood Village Association. Don’t miss it!

Tell Students: Newman Center Thursday-Night Dinners

All students are invited to attend our free weekly home-cooked Thursday-night dinners. We begin serving at 6:30 p.m. Our first dinner for the spring semester is Thursday, January 28. Students are welcome to hang out for a game of pool, watch TV on our big screen, or just relax with friends.

A panel discussion with black women who have leading positions on campus and how it has affected their lives and career. Panelists include President Katherine Conway-Turner, Janelle Brooks, and Dr. Karen Jones.

Jeopardy: Black Sitcom Edition
Friday, February 5, 4:00 p.m.
Technology Building 160
Join BAM to play the trivia game "Jeopardy." The questions will revolve around black sitcoms from the '70s to the present day. A prize will be awarded to the winning team.

Silent Party with USG
Saturday, February 6, 9:00 p.m.
Campbell Student Union Social Hall
In collaboration with United Students Government and other organizations, BAM will host a silent party where students will listen to music through headphones. This is a free event for Buffalo State students with their student ID.

Urgent: Help the Residents of Flint, Michigan, Today

Buffalo State is responding to the water crisis in Flint, Michigan, this week by sending bottled drinking water. Please bring any amount of bottled water including individual bottles, cases, or large jugs to the Campbell Student Union lobby, the Volunteer and Service-Learning Center in Cleveland 306, or the Equity and Campus Diversity Office in Cleveland 415 by noon Thursday, January 28. Your donation will be delivered to the people of Flint by a local church on Friday. The residents of Flint are facing an unprecedented water crisis as their sinks, bathtubs, and hoses have been contaminated with lead for more than a year.

The collection is sponsored by Iota Phi Theta fraternity, the Equity and Campus Diversity Office, and the Volunteer and Service-Learning Center.

EAP Offers Weight Watchers Open House: February 10

The Buffalo State Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers Weight Watchers meetings on campus every Wednesday from noon to 1:00 p.m. in Butler Library 208. The meetings are open to faculty, staff, and students.

To learn more before joining, please visit the Weight Watchers Open House on Wednesday, February 10, from noon to 1:00 p.m. in Butler Library 208.

If you have been thinking about joining the program, now is the best time to join. If you are currently attending these meetings, keep up the great work and get ready to welcome some new members.

The benefits of the At-Work Program:

HOPE Haiti Fundraiser: Buffalo State Rotaract Club Bake Sale - February 11

The Buffalo State Rotaract Club will hold its Valentine's Day bake sale, a fundraiser for HOPE Haiti, on Thursday, February 11, from noon to 2:00 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union. A wide variety of treats will be available, including gluten-free, nut-free, and vegan options, all for $1 apiece. Raffle tickets will also be sold for $1 each and will be entered in a drawing for a Valentine’s Day–themed gift basket. Sellers will also be traveling throughout campus, so if you can't make it to the Union, please e-mail rotaractclub@mail.buffalostate.edu with your office location, and we will be happy to stop by.

All proceeds raised will be used to purchase much-needed books for HOPE Haiti. Please join us on Thursday in the Student Union and show your support for your school and community.

Hospice Spring Bouquet Sale

It's that time of year again. Think spring! Support Hospice Buffalo by purchasing a beautiful mixed bouquet for $8 or a large tribute bouquet for $30. For each tribute bouquet sold, an $8 bouquet will be given to a current Hospice patient. Advance orders will be accepted until Friday, February 12. Bouquets will be delivered to Cleveland Hall 307 on Monday, February 29. To place an order or for more information, please contact Donna Doyle, secretary in College Relations, 878-4201. Payment can be made at the time of order or at the time of pickup. Cash or checks only. Please make checks payable to Hospice Foundation.
