Degree Works will be unavailable from midnight until 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, to allow for system maintenance. Degree Works will be unavailable from 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, until 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 21, to allow for additional system maintenance.

Banner Outage during Summer Session B Grading Window

The faculty grading window for 2016 Summer Session B closes tomorrow, July 27, at 9:00 p.m. Banner will be unavailable tomorrow from midnight through 7:00 a.m. Faculty members will not be able to enter grades during this time. Once Banner is back online tomorrow morning, faculty members will be able to enter grades for Summer Session B through 9:00 p.m.

The Career Development Center is pleased to announce the launch of its new ORCA system for job, internship, and volunteer opportunities. Departments hiring student assistants or any other personnel are encouraged to post their openings on ORCA. (Please note: work-study jobs are posted by the Financial Aid Office.) Faculty and staff members are invited to log in and explore the new system.

Registrar's Office: Master Schedule Input Drop-In Sessions

The Registrar's Office will offer four one-hour drop-in sessions to review room scheduling tips and answer questions on June 29, July 7, July 11, and July 22 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Bulger Communication Center North 2B. Registration is not required. Everyone who is responsible for master schedule input in Banner is encouraged to attend at least one session. Please bring a copy of all master schedule input documents along with a pen and notepad. You are also encouraged to bring a few input examples that can used for demonstration at the session.

Celebrate 50 Years of the Burchfield Penney Art Center: Display in Butler Library

A display of publications related to Charles E. Burchfield and the Burchfield Penney Art Center is currently on view in the lower lobby of Butler Library. The display is a collaboration among the Burchfield Penney Art Center; the Archives and Special Collections' Charles Rand Penney Art Library at Butler; and the Circulation Staff Exhibit Committee. The display runs through Sunday, July 24.

Faculty-Staff Parking Permits Available July 8

Faculty and staff parking permit stickers for the 2016–2017 academic year will be available to purchase online beginning Friday, July 8. Employees may log on to the system with their campus usernames and passwords. Permits can be sent via U.S. mail to the employee’s address of record or picked up in the Parking Services Office, Chase Hall 126. A valid photo ID must be shown when picking up a parking permit.

Staff members who do not have a campus username and password may apply in person for their parking permit in the Parking Services Office. Permits are not available at Student Accounts.

University Police will begin ticketing for No Permit Violations beginning Tuesday, September 6. If you have elected to have your permit mailed to you and have not received it by this date, please stop at University Police or Parking Services to obtain a temporary permit for the day.

We look forward to providing this opportunity to go green and help create a smooth transition for the upcoming semester.

Buffalo State will host the New Economy Coalition's 2016 CommonBound Conference July 8–10, bringing to campus hundreds of leaders in alternative economies with powerful visions for the future. The conference will showcase the work of a cross-section of community leaders, thinkers, and practitioners from around the world, including the New Economy Coalition’s 140-plus member organizations from throughout the United States and Canada. CommonBound participants will share strategies and stories, build relationships, highlight achievements, and chart a shared path toward a society that puts people and planet first.
