Tell Students: Ron Brown ITEC Scholarship Opportunity

Applications are currently being accepted for the Ron Brown ITEC Scholarship. This scholarship will be given to a Buffalo State student who is enrolled for the fall 2016 semester and who shows promise in the study of computing and technology.

Applications and information on the selection criteria are available on the ITEC website. Applications must be submitted electronically by midnight Sunday, October 9.

Finalists will be interviewed by the selection committee. The selection committee's decision is final. Final notification will be sent to all applicants via e-mail.

Tell Students: Rwanda 2017 General Information Meetings - September 8, 22

Students from all majors are invited to join the Anne Frank Project's fifth student delegation to Rwanda in June 2017. Highlights of the trip include peace, reconciliation, and genocide studies; training in and implementation of AFP’s drama-based education and story-building model; and engagement in cultural and political experiences.

Robert J. Elmes Jr. Memorial Scholarship Winners

The Robert J. Elmes Jr. Memorial Scholarship Committee and the CSEA Local 640 congratulate the winners of the fall 2016 Robert J. Elmes Jr. Memorial Scholarship. Congratulations to Kathrine Morales, our member recipient who is pursuing a business degree and works for the School of the Professions, and criminal justice major Tyler Winkowski, the dependent recipient.

Local 640 members are reminded that the scholarship will once again be offered for spring 2017. New applicants and those who have already won are eligible and welcome to apply. Watch for applications in early January. Tell Students: CEURE After-School Tutoring Opportunities

Are you passionate about working with youth in urban settings? Are you committed to making an impact in the community? Do you have expertise, hobbies, or interests you would like to teach children ages 6 to 14? The Center for Excellence in Urban and Rural Education (CEURE) is looking for 25–30 undergraduate or graduate students to provide enrichment and recreation activities, homework support, and intensive literacy tutoring to students in grades 1 to 8 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Apply to be an academic or enrichment tutor at Buffalo Public International School 45 (10 minutes from campus by bus). Earn $10-$12 an hour and build your professional portfolio.
