The Burchfield Penney Art Center's annual book sale is scheduled this year for May 1820, and we are in full-swing hunting-and-gathering mode. Please help make this the biggest sale yet by donating your used books. We pride ourselves on having the biggest and best selection of art books (naturally) of any sale in the area, but we are always seeking books in other categories (as well as CDs and DVDs). Donations can be dropped off at our security office during museum hours. Please note that we do not accept most periodicals or encyclopedias. If you have any questions about our sale or donating books, please contact Joseph Lonzi, special projects coordinator, 878-3215.

Weve posted a lot lately about information security awareness related to electronic records, accounts, and communication. This is to remind us all that we also need to consider privacy in verbal conversation and paper files. If youre out with a colleague and find yourself discussing an employee or student, be aware that someone may overhear your conversation. Before you print out your Banner roster, ask yourself, do I really need a print copy? Mumbling your password as you type it into your ATM? Mums the word.

Youve seen them, no doubt, the ads that ask you to "click here" to find out how Kim Kardashian lost weight, or the ad that wants to give you a free iPad. Beazley reports that fake offers make up 81 percent of social media scams. Clicking on that link often takes you to a malware-infected website. Be vigilant. Be on the lookout for scams. Dont like or follow any account that is managed by an unknown entity. Beware of phishing messages through social media, even when they seem to come from your friends. Remember, while you are a target, you can choose to be a shield. Be aware.
