Workshop Registration System Moved to Library Registration System

Posted:

In an effort to provide a more modern and sustainable method for faculty and staff members to register for professional development opportunities, the Professional Development Center, the Teaching and Learning CenterInstructional Design and Training, and Marketing and Communications will switch to LibCal to manage registrations for campus workshops starting in spring 2020, replacing the CyberQuad Workshop Registration System. LibCal is currently also used by Butler Library for equipment loan and calendaring.

Faculty and staff members who wish to retrieve a list of past classes they have registered for and attended through the old CyberQuad Workshop Registration System may do so up until August 30, 2020. A Knowledge Base article, "Saving/Printing Classes from Workshop Registration System," has been created to assist with this task.

Check out the upcoming sessions for spring 2020!

Information Technology: Upgrade to Buffalo State’s ODS - January 17-20

Posted:

Buffalo State College will upgrade its data warehouse from the close of business Friday, January 17, through Monday, January 20. The data warehouse is also known as “ODS”; its reporting tool, Argos, is used to create reports from ODS. Other systems like Banner and Degree Works also interact with ODS.

During this upgrade, ODS will operate with data captured before the close of business on January 17. Data in the warehouse will not be updated during this period. Any report run from January 17 through 20 will be populated with data last updated on January 17.

ODS will be completely unavailable for a short window. If you find ODS to be nonoperational at any time during this window, please log off and log back in later; ODS will likely be running again. Please remember, though, that data will not be updated past January 17.

During this upgrade, systems interacting with ODS could be slow, freeze, or behave in unusual ways. Banner might also be affected during this period. If you encounter problems, please log out and log back in later.

Please contact Patrick DeWind, senior database administrator, 878-4611, if you have important work to do this weekend.
