New LibGuide Available: Civic and Community Engagement for Faculty

Posted:

Butler Library has published a Civic and Community Engagement for Faculty LibGuide that contains helpful information for faculty members interested in integrating community engagement into their teaching and research.

The guide provides a list of resources such as published research and scholarship, journal articles, suggested readings, best practices, community engagement organizations and associations, and more. Resources such as faculty e-training videos, faculty service-learning handbook, and a special section highlighting research focused on virtual and online service learning are also available.

Our goal is to support community-engaged teaching and learning, as well as community-engaged research and scholarship at Buffalo State College. If you have resources you’d like us to add or have suggestions for improving the guide, please contact the CCE

'Q&A: Accessible Content' - January 26

Posted:

As we prepare for spring 2021, please join us for the webinar "Q&A: Accessible Content," presented by Meghan Pereira, director of instructional design and training, on Tuesday, January 26, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

Attend this session and bring your questions and concerns about accessibility and meeting student accommodation. The lab will be "staffed" by members of the Instructional Design and Training team and Student Accessibility Services. Whether you have a general question about how you can support students or a more specific question about how to make one of your documents accessible, we will do our best to help. There is no agenda for this session; show up when you can within the allotted time and leave when you have to.

You can access the webinar using Meghan's Remote Teaching Workshops Room. Please review the BbCollaborate website to become familiar with using Blackboard Collaborate Ultra as a participant, if you'd like.

Google Chrome or Firefox is strongly recommended as a browser. If you have a webcam and microphone, that's great. If not, you should be able to get everything you need as long as your headset or speakers are working. Questions can also be typed in the Chat window.

Please register through the Workshop Registration System.
