Student Research and Creativity Conference: Abstracts Due March 22

The 25th annual Student Research and Creativity Conference (SRCC) is scheduled for Friday, May 5, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Science and Mathematics Complex atrium. The event is open to both undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines. Proposals for research poster sessions, oral presentations, and performances of creative work are welcome.

SRCC applications are completed online. Access to the online application portal will remain open to students through 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22. Faculty mentors will have until 10:00 p.m. Friday, March 24, to review, edit, and approve application abstracts submitted by their students. Only applications approved by mentors will be considered complete; incomplete applications will not be reviewed for inclusion in SRCC. For more details, please visit the SRCC website.

Responsible for assisting with the organization, development, and leadership of a varsity intercollegiate football program in support of the mission and core values of the Athletic Department and Buffalo State University. Duties include supporting all efforts of the head coach in recruiting and retaining top prospective student-athletes; establishing a competitive schedule; coordinating practice planning and skill development, and designing strategies that prepare team for competition; mentoring student-athletes; overseeing development initiatives; organizing football camps; collaborating with numerous athletic and university units; demonstrating adherence to university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. The assistant coach also supports campus retention and student-support efforts by serving as a mentor for non-student-athletes as assigned and in collaboration with partners in Student Affairs and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Performs other duties as assigned by the director of athletics that are consistent with the skills and abilities related to this position and that address the university’s strategic goals.

Tell Students: President’s Certificate of Recognition for Community Engagement

Buffalo State President Katherine Conway-Turner and the Civic and Community Engagement Office (CCE) want to recognize your students’ achievements and the positive impact they have left on the community. Please encourage students who have completed between 200 and 1,000 hours of community service to apply for the President’s Certificate of Recognition for Community Engagement now!

This award covers a student’s entire college career, so transfer students can also use community service they completed while attending a former college or university as well.

Recipients will be recognized at the 2023 Buffalo State Celebration of Community Engagement on Tuesday, May 9. Students should apply online on the CCE website by Monday, April 3.
