Submission of Contract Invoices within Bengal Buy

Posted:

In order to facilitate increased workflow capabilities related to contract payments, Procurement Services will now be using Bengal Buy for submission of all contract payments with the exception of construction.

Submission of contract payments was previously accomplished with the use of a digital requisition emailed to Procurement. Effective Thursday, February 1, all non-construction-related contract invoices should be submitted via Bengal Buy as Non-Catalog Item orders, notating the contract number and associated invoice number in the Internal Notes field.

A Bengal Buy guide for submission of a contract invoice has been created to support this change and is available on the Procurement website.

This change is a continuation of the phased implementation of the Bengal Buy system and will support efficiencies with the use of electronic approvals and workflow for the vital piece of our campus contractual payment process.

To allow time for this change, Procurement will no longer accept digital requisitions for submission of contract payments after February 15, 2024.

Campus departments that are unsure if a related invoice is contractual in nature can email Procurement for verification.

Please email Procurement with any questions or training requests.

Butler Library Construction Update: Change to Construction Schedule

Posted:

Butler Library has an opportunity to wrap up parts of the HVAC construction project early and to restore access to the Curriculum Materials Lab (CURRLAB) area by making some changes to the construction schedule.

Originally, the northwest quadrant would have been completed before the northeast quadrant started; however, by doing both quads at once, we can restore access to the CURRLAB area much sooner than originally planned. As most of the books and furniture in both areas have already been moved, this is a preferable outcome.

We have contacted frequent users to make them aware of this change. Starting this week, access to the northeast quadrant will be cut off. Library staff members will still have access to pull requested books on a regular schedule.

Project progress can be tracked on the library's HVAC construction project website.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Joe Riggie, head of information management.

Registrar's Office: Spring 2024 Semester

Posted:

Spring 2024 classes begin today, January 29. Any student who is waiting on a response from an instructor should contact the instructor now. If the instructor is not available, students can call the departmental office and ask if someone can assist them. A list of departments and phone numbers is available online.

Students who are on a waitlist for a course should check the schedule to see if another section has seats available. It's always a best practice to encourage students to secure a seat in a course as soon as possible, and not wait until the start of the semester.

Students should be referred to the Registrar's Office Registration web page for detailed information.

Registration ends Tuesday, February 6, at 11:59 p.m. Students who are attending a class that does not show on their Banner Student Detail Schedule must add the class as soon as possible but no later than February 6. All instructors should be checking their Banner rosters, as registration continues to change the first three weeks of the semester; Banner is the official system of record for registration.

If students decide they no longer want a course, it is their responsibility and very important that they drop the course as soon as possible. Non-attendance does not equate to a drop. Students who no longer want a class must drop the course no later than February 6. Students should be reminded that failure to drop a registered course that they don't attend will result in a final grade of E.

There are no drops after February 6. Starting February 6, students must withdraw online in Banner to leave a class. February 6 is the last day to leave a class without financial penalty. Refund percentages based on date of withdrawal are available on the Student Accounts Tuition and Fees web page.

Students may email the Registrar's Office or call (716) 878-4811 with questions.

Students will have either 24 hours to add the class or until the end of drop/add (11:59 p.m. February 6) whichever deadline comes first.
