Students can view the J-Term 2025 master schedule on the Registrar's Office Courses web page, as well as directly in Banner and Schedule Planner, starting Wednesday, October 9.

Access to Overdrive Ebooks and Audiobooks

Posted:

Butler Library is now able to provide access to ebooks and audiobooks through Overdrive. This is the same system that powers most public library ebooks and audiobooks. Access is provided through a consortium of New York Academic Libraries. This consortium purchases content collectively, and access is shared across all member libraries.

To get started, you can access these ebooks several ways:

  1. The books are added to the library's ALLsearch catalog.
  2. The books can be accessed through the Overdrive web portal.
  3. The books can be accessed through the Libby app by adding the Northern New York Library Network.

As this is a shared resource, you may find that titles are already checked out; however, you can place a hold and be notified when the title is available.

  • Ebooks and audiobooks are available for 21-day checkouts.
  • Log in with your Buffalo State University username and password. Make sure to pick SUNY Buffalo State University from the drop-down list.

Please contact Joe Riggie, head of information management, with questions.

Registrar's Office: Upcoming J-Term/Spring 2025 Banner Preview

Posted:

Starting Wednesday, October 9, both the J-Term 2025 and Spring 2025 master schedules will be posted online on the Registrar's Office Courses web page and searchable in both Banner and Schedule Planner.

Students will also be able to view their time ticket (their registration start date) and any holds on their account (if applicable). All undergraduate time tickets are determined by number of earned credit hours (Buffalo State and transfer); do not count any "in progress" fall 2024 credit hours. All graduate time tickets are determined by major, either day two or day three of registration. A general web registration schedule (PDF, 64 KB) has been posted online for reference.

All students should be strongly encouraged to search the master schedule and plan their ideal schedule using Schedule Planner. Schedule Planner is an easy-to-use planning tool. As registration continues, it also allows students to search for open classes, classes in which there are seats available.

Homecoming 2024 Office Door-Decorating Contest Winners

Posted:

Thank you to the 16 offices across campus who participated in this year's Homecoming door-decorating contest. The judges were highly impressed with the creative interpretations of our Homecoming theme, Together We Grow, which showcased the evolution of the institution to the growth and development of our students, staff members, and offices. Judges also praised the incorporation of recycled materials and eco-friendly approaches, as well as the three-dimensionality of many designs.

Winning Doors

1st Place: College Writing Program (Ketchum Hall 213)

2nd Place: Weigel Health Center

3rd Place: Muriel A. Howard Honors Program (South Wing 310)

Honorable Mentions: Educational Opportunity Program (South Wing 630) and Alumni Engagement

Congratulations to the College Writing Program for winning first place! The judges agreed that their design featured numerous elements of an exemplary door. It also embraced the Homecoming spirit by encouraging students to add a leaf to the tree describing their growth at Buffalo State and to listen to a custom Homecoming playlist!

Visit the Homecoming website to view photos of all the decorated doors.
