Technology Building Preparations Under Way; Metered Parking Affected

Posted:

The pre-construction phase of the new Technology Building, which includes demolition of the Central Receiving and former bakery buildings, will begin in early April. Construction of the new Technology Building is expected to get under way this fall.

To accommodate the enclosure of the work site and compensate for spaces lost in the project, the metered parking spaces in Lot D-1 on Union Place (south of Chase Hall) will be permanently removed during the week of March 29. These spaces will be reserved for UPD use, with signage clearly indicating the new affiliation.

Visitor parking is still available in Lots B-1, C, L-2, and X. Please visit www.buffalostate.edu/construction for more information about this and other campus projects. Questions about the new Technology Building may be directed to VPFM@buffalostate.edu.

Construction Update: Science and Mathematics Complex

Posted:

Buffalo State College held a ceremonial groundbreaking for the Science and Mathematics Complex on September 25, 2009. Since then, work has been progressing on site preparation, underground utilities, and selective demolition.

The pile driving phase of construction will begin this week, and is expected to last six weeks or less. Pile drivers force support columns into the terrain to form the foundation on which the academic complex will be built. To help minimize early morning noise for residents, this work will be done between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (other construction work often begins at 7:00 a.m.).

Occupants of buildings near the site will experience some noise and vibration associated with this activity. We appreciate your patience. For more information on campus construction, please visit the construction Web site. Questions about this project may be sent to VPFM@buffalostate.edu.
