Have Lunch Today with Buffalo State Dining

Spot Coffee will be open during the summer Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Resident Dining Hall, located in the Campbell Student Union, will be open for breakfast from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. and lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday featuring an all-you-care-to-eat buffet.

For lunch today in the dining hall, enjoy roast turkey with gravy, parmesan roasted potatoes, honey butter carrots, black bean and corn salad, green salad, and garlic bread.

Social Enterprise 101 Workshop: August 22

The Small Business Development Center now provides assistance for entrepreneurs seeking to directly address social and environmental problems through their businesses. The workshop Social Enterprise 101 will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 22, in Cleveland Hall 205 to introduce you to the SBDC's social enterprise counseling services. The workshop will cover the following four areas of training: social business planning; legal form for social entrepreneurs; social impact measurement and reporting; and financing your social enterprise. Universal Pre-K at Buffalo State Child Care Center

The Buffalo State Child Care Center will offer universal pre-K through the Buffalo Public Schools this year for children born in 2010. Families must reside in the city of Buffalo to be eligible for this publicly funded program. Wraparound services will be provided for a fee to meet the needs of parents.

The program includes a developmentally appropriate curriculum using best practices in early childhood education. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Webinar: Math Education for the Blind and Visually Impaired

Almost all STEM fields require high competence in mathematics, a subject that can be difficult to effectively present to blind and visually impaired students. This presentation will describe traditional problems and solutions for teaching math to blind students, as well as outline emerging issues related to the rapid growth of online learning and computerized math coursework. It will also cover results of testing and studies using new software tools.

The SUNY Center for Professional Development in support of EASI (Equal Access to Software and Information) invites Buffalo State faculty to attend this free webinar on Tuesday, August 12, at 2:00 p.m. Register for this webinar on the EASI Website.
