September 11 National Day of Service and Volunteer Fair

Posted:

The September 11 National Day of Service and Volunteer Fair is an opportunity for Buffalo State students, faculty, and staff to remember and recognize a tragic yet important day in our nation's history.

The Volunteer and Service-Learning Center (VSLC) will facilitate Buffalo State's participation in a national day of service to recognize the importance of active citizenship not only during times of crisis but every day. The event will provide opportunities for students to spend a few minutes or a few hours helping with specific community-identified needs through on-campus service projects.

Many nonprofit organizations will be on campus from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to speak with students about volunteer opportunities that connect with personal interests and to provide service projects that can be accomplished in a small amount of time while making an impact. These projects will allow students to realize that service does not have to take a significant time commitment. Everyone can help transform the community.
Questions can be directed to the Volunteer and Service-Learning Center, ext. 5811, vslc@buffalostate.edu, or stop by Cleveland Hall 306.
